Kevin,

You want me to support and send money to McCain? Are you crazy? I respect the man for his military service, but how can I agree with the what I have found about McCain below:
Seriously, I can't stand any of the senators running. It is asking me which eye I want to poke out. I would like to pick neither.

Instead the party has ignored a candidate whom broke the single day fund raising numbers whom has no campaign debt, has not voted for amnesty, and has no fund raising violations.

Whatever happened to the GOP?

Thanks,
Dustin XXXXXXXX

As you finish filling out your 1040 this year, keep in mind there's one thing Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama agree on: you don't spend enough in taxes.

Both Democrats have proposed eliminating the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 to help pay for their massive government spending programs totaling nearly $1 TRILLION.

The cost to you: Nearly $3,000 annually for the average Ohio family of four! That's about double the average tax burden now after standard deductions.

So how can you keep your taxes from doubling? Join 88 in 08 to help John McCain and other Republicans win Ohio this November and make the tax cuts permanent.

Your generous contribution of $88, $176 or $250 will enable us to build the statewide grassroots organization we need to defeat the Democrats and their special interest supporters.

Find out more about the Democrats' $3 TRILLION TAX HIKE.

We are well on the way to raising $88,000 to fund our Get Out The Vote efforts in every one of Ohio's 88 counties, but we need your continued support. If you are already a member of 88 in 08, consider an additional contribution of $88, $176 or $250 to help us reach our goal.

It's a reasonable investment to keep Ohio Republican and more money in your pocket - where it belongs.

My stress levels are increasing.
  • 46 Days until the wedding
  • I have to move out this house by in May 31 that've been renting since June of last year.
  • We are house shopping
  • My job schedule I hoped to have just changed the day I started it. I was supposed to get Monday - Thursday and now I have to go back to Tuesday - Friday.
  • Only 1 groomsman have gotten their tuxedos fitted.
  • The batteries for my camcorder are on backorder with no ETA.

I feel like a !#$% ping pong ball. Beat and going back and forth.

Tonight I received a letter from the Family Research Council. (It was from the $10 I donated to vote for Ron Paul on their site.) In this letter it states that homosexuals are trying to protest against megachurches and they want my money...

Below is what I wrote back to them.

To whom it may concern:

I have been spammed enough by this organization. To me it is avoiding one of the most important issues facing our nation, the economy. The trends from the past few decades show our nation is going into a decline.

Is it from social issues? Maybe.
Is it from fighting wars? Most likely.
Is it from allowing the fruits of our labors being abused? Definitely.

The Federal Reserve is as "federal" as Federal Express. No one seems to talk about how much the dollar has been deflated since its inception. Money is referenced more times in the Bible than homosexuality, should not money and the economy be an important issue for  the FRC? Social security is running out of money. The national debt is skyrocketing and here the conservatives bicker over social issues?

Besides, it almost appears that the FRC funds itself by fear. I opened this most recent letter regarding homosexuality. This seems to be propaganda! I know several homosexuals who have never pushed themselves on to me and would like to live their lives as they see fit. We as Christians are not here to judge. Some of the people against homosexuals to protest at solders funerals with signs that "God hates Fags". The other people who push for banning homosexuality and other social issues seem to think that the middle east hates us for our freedoms. The same people tend to believe that Muslim faiths are oppressive yet looking at what some members of FRC want to do bascially copy the oppression. Any sin is still a sin to God, so why think that one is worse than another?

Ever person has rights, basically defined by the Golden Rule which Jesus taught. "Treat others how you would like to be treated."
So if people wish to be different, let them as long as they do not impose on your life.

Do yourselves a favor and please stop mailing me until you all seem to get the priorities straightened out. If not, we will all be poor and will be without liberty.

Sincerely,
A concerned libertarian citizen

The Stock market is dropping.

The value of the US Dollar is falling.

The nation's debt is increasing.

And the other candidates but one realize the problem and knows the solutions.

Woah ... AOL has finally caved in? Errr, maybe not the correct word.

http://florianjensen.com/2008/01/17/aol-adopting-xmpp-aka-jabber/

I posted before about AOL angering me about the "OpenAIM" license, which I'm still angry. I'm still a little mad about the whole GAIM/pidgin issue.

This is a step forward. Now since AOL has followed suit with Google, MSN, and Yahoo should too.

I thought that I'd write in my blog one last time. Wow, has this year gone fast. Just last year I was finishing up college and not exactly sure where I was going to be working after I graduated.

I know a lot of things have changed this year. This next year continues to bring about some big life changes such as getting married, buying my own house, and buying my car.

It's always interesting what type of people you can meet at a Car shop.

Also it took me 3.5 hours to get my oil changed, my transmission flushed, my fuel injectors cleaned, and my tires rotated.

Merry Christmas everyone from work. Oh the joys of being in IT and being on a 24x7 team.

EDIT: ... my laptop locks up in bios now ...

I think computers hate me!

I had to make a comment about this email. I respect your right to disagree with me for that is what makes America a great nation. But here is what I have to say about this forwarded email:

I agree the United States has changed for the worse. However, there are some differences between Iraq and WW2. In WW2, it was officially declared a War by Congress. Congress did not officially declare war for Iraq as defined in the United States Constitution. With our nation in trillions of dollars of debt, can we afford in money and lives to be fighting undeclared wars in order to be the police of the world? I'm sure neither you or I are looking to pay that in taxes or our lives. To paraphrase a candidate running for office, we blow up bridges in war, rebuild bridges in these countries, and we have our own bridges crumbling here. Who is really benefiting from these conflicts? The military defense industry is.

I've heard that wars boost the economy, and I used to believe that. But I encourage anyone to read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_broken_window#War

Terrorism creates fear. If you let the government become your solution for fear, the government will begin to abuse your rights just like our money. The solution is fear is be prepared and trust in God.

Crazy people, like terrorists, will always exist, but why should be provoke them? In fact, most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi Arabian, which we have had a military base in Saudi Arabia for years. This was also cited as one of the reasons they attacked us. Our government's history of meddling with other countries affairs has brought resentment. Did you know that we, the United States Government, gave weapons, money, and training to Osama Bin Laden when he fought the Russians, or that we supported Saddam Hussein? I don't believe all terrorism would end if we did quit meddling with countries affairs but it would severely damage the amount of hate for our country. If we need to go to war, we need to stop being so politically correct in doing so. There is no reason our troops should have to be following the current "only shoot if shot at" policy.

Do I still feel that the United States is a great country? Yes and there is potential that it can become better, but we need to change the way we approach issues involving personal liberties, foreign affairs, and monetary policy. Sorry if this comes off at harsh, but I really wish to see change for peace in this world and hope for the future generations. I am tired of the need to have a "War on ..." Terrorism, Drugs, Poverty, or etc.

If anything we need to have is War on Government Corruption and War on Government Overspending.

I apologize if this comes off as an attack or offensive, although it is not my intenion, but rather to share my opinion. Thank you for continuing to being wonder friends and family.

But that did not matter. The people stuck with the President because it was their patriotic duty. Americans put aside their differences in WWII and worked together to win that war.

So I put both a Linux bumper sticker and a Ron Paul sticker on my car. I think that is a good start to show my support for freedom.

The Ohio LinuxFest

The LinuxFest allowed developers, companies, and fellow FOSS people share ideas, products, and fun with each other. The FOSS movement helps stimulate competition with proprietary software which sometimes seems to obstruct competition and innovation.

This is why I am also a Ron Paul supporter. Although he does not support a network neutrality ban which to him is a violation of the governments responsibility. He wants less government intervention not more. He makes a valid point and if it would pass would probably limit the small business owner from ever having his own ISP since he or she would have to go through a bunch of red tape to comply with the future laws.

Why am I posting about Ron Paul?

I feel that the media and large corporations don't want you to hear his message. I am tired of hearing that he is too radical or that he does not have enough support. Letting one of the big candidates such as Clinton, Obama, Mitt, Thompson, or Giuliani win the presidency will cause this country to continue to go into bankruptcy. How much longer are the Chinese going to allow us to borrow their money? How can we afford to pay for wars that are unconstitutionally declared? How can we let let our children and grandchildren pay for these horrible choices? The last officially declared war was World War II, and it was the last war we officially won. Our foreign policy of Intervention has caused our current problems in the Middle east. The U.S. Government provided arms and money to Iran to topple its government. The U.S. Government provided arms and money to Saddam Hussein because Iran got too powerful. The U.S. Government also gave arms and money to Osama Bin Laden when he fought against the Russians.

Besides killing our country financially in this way, many of these candidates wish for us to form a North American Union which would power above the U.S. Constitution. Do the people who want this happen remember that the U.S. Constitution is the "Supreme Law of the Land".

Not spreading Ron Paul's message most likely will let the federal government bankrupt our country as it continues to start unconstitutional wars and keeps disobeying the Constitution that our Founding Fathers wrote.

It is time that we re-legalize freedom and remember that it is "We, the people, ..." and not "They, the large corporations and corrupt government, ..." Forward this message of Freedom!

Sincerely,
Dustin

P.S. If you want to see Ron Paul speak watch the CNBC GOP Presidential debates at 4pm EDT.
